The Practice

Founded in 1996, Fairfax Internal Medicine continues the tradition of solo internal medicine established by Dr. Edward Gallagher in 1964 in Old Town Fairfax. We specialize in providing care for adults, ages 16 and up. Fairfax Internal Medicine understands the need for consistent care. We treat each patient as an individual. Our compassionate, professional staff is dedicated to providing the highest level of care possible. As a small practice, the focus is providing excellent care, basically without regard to your specific insurance company as much as is possible in the current regulated environment. The practice is entirely based in one office, five days a week. Designated appointment times means that Dr. Reese individually addresses your needs.

The hospitalists, specifically inpatient-trained internists, at INOVA Fairfax and Fair Oaks hospitals will primarily guide your inpatient stays, should you unfortunately need in-hospital care. As soon as you are discharged, you return to the office for an appointment to resume management by Dr. Reese, separate from any specialists you required.

Tricare - ALWAYS Proudly accepted. Dr. Reese's Father: Captain Thomas D. Reese, Jr. USMC was honorably decorated in 1967 while leading Company B in Viet Nam. During the last month of his tour of duty, he was wounded in battle, shot through the hip and bladder in 1969. Treatment, including 9 months traction, at Bethesda Naval hospital brought him and his family to Northern Virginia; the following year he was honorably retired disabled.
