Fairfax Internal Medicine

Our Practice

Founded in 1996, Fairfax Internal Medicine continues the tradition of solo internal medicine established by Dr. Edward Gallagher in 1964 in Old Town Fairfax.  We specialize in providing care for adults, ages 16 and up. Fairfax Internal Medicine understands the need for consistent care. We treat each patient as an individual. Our compassionate, professional staff is dedicated to providing the highest level of care possible. As a small practice, the focus is providing excellent care, basically without regard to your specific insurance company as much as is possible in the current regulated environment.  The practice is entirely based in one office, five days a week.  Designated appointment times means that staff and Dr. Reese individually address your needs.

The hospital-chosen, specifically inpatient-trained internists at INOVA Fairfax and Fair Oaks hospitals will primarily guide your inpatient stays, should you unfortunately need in-hospital care.  As soon as you are discharged, you return to the office for an appointment to resume management by Dr. Reese, separate from any specialists you required.

Although we do offer same-day appointments when available, we encourage making your routine appointments as far as 6 months to 1 year in advance.  Timely evaluations ensure  time will not lapse before your next medical study is required or before medication renewals.  Prescriptions are addressed appropriately at the time of associated medical evaluations. Our friendly staff will be happy to answer any questions you have regarding scheduling and insurance arrangements.  To effectively use your insurance, we must ask that you be responsible for promptly providing accurate policy information at all times.  Our new practice management software permits email and voicemail reminders for your appointments about a week ahead.  Please call for any questions, for rescheduling, or to confirm your appointment.

We guarantee all medical records are kept completely confidential

To preserve the schedule out of respect for others, if you arrive more than 20 minutes after your scheduled appointment, a late charge may be applied as the time reserved for you has passed.
