Fairfax Internal Medicine

Staff

The original practice was founded by Dr. Edward Gallagher in 1964.  He retired, still practicing solo, after months of personally introducing Dr. Whitney Reese in 1996.  The practice was moved just blocks away to the ground level of the fountain courtyard at Fairfax Square in 2002.

We understand that for many, visiting a doctor can be a stressful experience. Our comfortable pace and compassionate responses will ease your fears.

Whitney E. Reese, MD

Dr. Reese earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Chemistry at Wellesley College, Massachusetts.  She obtained her Doctor of Medicine at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City.  She successfully completed her internal medicine residency at Georgetwon University Medical Center.  Dr. Reese is board certified by the National Board of Internal Medicine since 2003.

Dr. Reese is a proud member of the Northern Virginia Medical Society.

Two young daughters keep her busy outside the office, but she still finds time to pursue equitation riding.  In the past, she has played varsity soccer, rowed as stroke for intramurals, run half the Boston marathon, and learned to single scull on the Potomac. Just before her children, she achieved the level of master scuba diver with over 70 dives in the Carribean and Puerto Vallarta.
